Architecture Office understands the notion that our structures and sheltered environments are not autonomous entities but are components in a larger system, that our products are not points on a straight line, but segments of an infinite loop.  We believe that our buildings must therefore respect their role in this continuum, seeking enriching integration with the natural systems that surround and pass through the work we make.  We recognize that this ethos governs the physical nature of architecture, from siting a structure, to choosing its materials, to harnessing local environmental phenomena in achieving comfort.

We also acknowledge these tenets in the social nature of our process, from the close collaboration with the stewards of all those entities touched by our work, to the proper sourcing of materials and components, and to the support of local traditions of craft and construction, to ultimately facilitating a place that enhances our connections with each other as much as they do our connections with the natural world.

Above all, we believe that longevity is the most ecologically responsible quality of good architecture.  We are convinced that a design which continues to inspire its inhabitants, enrich its surrounding community and flexibly accommodate a spectrum of activities, while durably weathering the natural forces of the elements and the artificial whims of fashion, will resist replacement, minimize waste, and help the perpetual triumph over the disposable.
